Pupils at Herbert Strutt Primary are on track for a safe future - after completing a cycling proficiency course.

Members of the Rotary Club of Belper and Duffield, along with some of the staff and governors, have spent the last few weeks training Year five pupils to be ‘Smart Riders.’

The scheme, run by Derbyshire County Council, trains the youngsters to use public roads safely by being aware of traffic around them.

President Hilary Surga of the Rotary Club, who is also a retired head teacher, visited the school to present the children with their certificates and badges.
