Aspiring film-makers at Belper School had the chance to work with industry professionals before having their own cinematic creations shown on the big screen.
Students were tutored by film maker and former student, Louis Vella and Luke Radford who is a director and writer on the project.
Teacher, Joan Hardy, said: “They learnt the basics of film making, writing scripts, constructing story boards and producing their films before they were shown at the Ritz Cinema during a special screening on Sunday, May 26.”
In July last year Louis Vella was presented with a Gold Arts Award from Trinity College, London. He has previously worked on a BBC documentary and filmed the Olympic torch for the UK Arts Council.
Mr Radford is currently directing Heart of Chaos which is being shot as a cinematic pilot for Channel 4.
