Marie Curie Nurses provide free care to local people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes, giving people the choice of where they want to be looked after. We’re currently looking for volunteers in Derbyshire to raise awareness of the charity’s services and ensure that local people can access the help they need.
We have a number of volunteer roles to fill from delivering publicity materials and talking to local groups, to helping co-ordinate other Marie Curie volunteers in the Derbyshire area.
All volunteers will play a valuable part in promoting a new pilot project in Derbyshire which enables patients and carers to contact Marie Curie directly to request free home care from the Marie Curie Nursing Service.
The roles are flexible and we are looking for volunteers who can help a few times per month, during the day or at evenings and weekends. Full training and induction will be provided. Access to a car or good public transportation is necessary for these volunteer roles.
For anyone interested in making a big difference for the charity and people in the local community, please contact Sarah Day on 0845 305 2195 or at VolunteeringMidlandsWalesWest@mariecurie.org.uk.
