DERBYSHIRE County Cricket Club has teamed up with Friends Provident to provide a special offer to young supp-orters throughout the 2008 season.
The Kids for Three promotion will see groups from schools and junior sports clubs attending the Phantoms’ big matches throughout the season for just £3 each.
One accompanying adult per eight children will be admitted for free and an unlimited numb
er of parents, family members and friends can also attend at the special price of £8.
Details of the offer have already been sent to schools throughout Derbyshire as well as an array of junior sports clubs covering the length and breadth of the county.
Friends Provident and the ECB decided on a ‘club day’ initiative for 2008 to engage those involved with the grass roots of the game in county cricket.
Derbyshire have taken the initiative to another level by making this special offer available to clubs and school groups at all cricket, in all competitions, during the summer.
Derbyshire head of commercial Keith Loring said: “We continue here at Derbyshire County Cricket Club to introduce cricket to new audiences. Kids for Three is another initiative designed, not only for children, but also encouraging the rest of the family, friends and neighbours etc, to come as a group and enjoy cricket here at the County Ground at great prices.”
Cressida Stevens, sponsorship manager, Friends Provident comm-ented "It is always good to see counties encouraging children to come along to the Friends Provident Trophy games and other big matches throughout the course of the season.
“Derbyshire's Kids for Three promotion matches Friends Provident's commitment to encourage participation and engagement with the game from grassroots to glory.
“Hopefully the children who come to Derbyshire this year will be inspired by the team and who knows, maybe one of them will be turning out in the blue of Derbyshire in the future."
