HOLBROOK had to settle for a share of the spoils from an entertaining match with both teams throwing themselves into tackles in a full blooded game on a sticky pitch.

Holbrook dominated the first half pushing the Prims defence back.

A Hallswo
rth cross was turned onto his own bar by Thorpe which would have given Holbrook an early lead but the hosts were also guilty of missing good openings time and time again.

Marc Finlay broke clear but as he slide the ball home the linesman raised his flag. Sam Bayliss burst through the defence with well timed runs but both his efforts went over the bar.

Karl Demidh lifted the ball over Simon Lillie in the Prims goal but his effort went wide of the post. It was Demidh who again found Lillie off his line but this time Thorp got back to clear off the line.

Sam Kellogg finally gave Holbrook the lead when Prims failed to clear a corner and he lifted his left foot shot into the top corner. Marc Finlay held the ball up well and twice turned his marker to shoot just off target.

As the half ended a lead of one goal did not give a reflection of the game.

The second half saw a much closer game of football. Demidh was thwarted by Lillie and then shot wide as Holbook failed to extend their lead.

Adam Lillie then equalised for Prims after a poor clearance by Damien Clark as he slipped was picked up by Fox who cut in and found Lillie who shot beat Clark.

Both side were aggrieved with decisions from referee's assistants, with Prims putting the ball in the net but having the effort ruled out as the ball was adjudged to have gone out of play.

But the decision was evened up when Demidh knocked the ball past a square Prims defence and chased it himself, with the same assistant flagging for offside as he broke clear.

Bothy managers Kev Bunting and Leigh Grant were left mystified by the decisions.

As the game entered injury time both sides could have won. Neil Broadhurst failed to hit the target from eight yards for Holbrook before Phil Carson failed to wrap his foot around an effort when well placed.

Kev Bunting commented: "I really can't believe we haven't got all three points, we created enough chances to win three games but the effort and attitude of the lads was top class.

"I will begin to worry when we are not creating chances. It just shows when you are on top you must take your chances."
