Ladzio wrap up a superb season

THE 19th Belper and District 5-a-side League recently drew to its conclusion with the finals night and annual presentation of awards.
In the premier division Ladzio had a superb season by being runners-up in the league, Divisional cup winners, Belper Oberon Cup winners and A-Z Trophy winners.

Belper Oberon FC were league champions, Black Swan were runners up in both the divisional cup and the A-Z Trophy, Stella Aces were Beaurepaire trophy winners.

In division one, Mean Machine were league champions and divisional cup runners up, Leedale were runners up in the league and divisional cup winners.

In division two Barca Loners were league champions, Cash Crisis were league runners up, Oberon Large Boys won the divisional cup and were runners up in the Belper Oberon Cup, New Youth were divisional cup runners up, Oberon youth were runners up in the Beaurepaire trophy.

The final award of the evening was the Hector Atwal award for the outstanding premier league player which went to Leigh Holbrook of Belper Oberon FC.

Organiser Andy Conkleton thanked all participating teams for their fair play, his assistant Mark Green, Mark’s partner Sharon for washing kits and his son Luke for doing a fine job with the league stats.

He also thanked referee Nick Sanders for doing a superb job yet again.

There will be a break now until September but for the next few weeks there will be a mini futsal league taking place at the Belper Leisure centre, the league winners will go on to compete in the regional finals of the FA Futsal Cup.
