Meadows through to Butterley Cup final

BELPER Meadows will face either Ockbrook & Borrowash seconds or Nutbrook firsts in the final of the Butterley Cup.
Meadows won through after a comfortable nine wicket semi final win over Little Eaton firsts at Alvaston & Boulton last Friday evening.
Meadows won the toss and after being put in, Little Eaton struggled to 112-8 off their 20 overs.
Chris Henson too
k 2-26 off three overs with David Whiteley also bagging a brace for 18 runs off three overs.
There were single wickets for Joe Carnelly, Rob Tomlinson, Ben McGonigal and Michael Cox.
In reply, Meadows easily reached their target despite losing opener Michael Cox for just eight at 24-1.
James Cox, 46 not out, and Ben McGonigal, 42 not out, steered the Meadows to victory in just 15.1 overs.
Meadows now have to wait for the outcome of the other semi-final which takes place on Friday, July 10 at Denby CC.
In the last remaining quarter final tie last Wednesday, Little Eaton had beat Brailsford by seven wickets.
Brailsford 107-8 (S Mohammed 3-21) lost to Little Eaton (108-3) (S Fisher 33, P Sinclair 36 not out) by seven wickets.
Jackson Cup
The semi-finals of the Jackson Cup are Rolls Royce v Spondon at Ockbrook on Friday, July 3 and Sandiacre v Ockbrook at Spondon on Friday, July 17.
In the quarter finals, Rolls Royce 133.4 (W Mohammed 33) beat Sawley & LE Park, 74 all out (M Sultan 4-6) by 59 runs.
Stainsby 106-7 lost to Spondon 161-7 (G Young 40, J Ashdown 44, R Peterson 3-15) by 55 runs.
Denby 125-6 lost to Sandiacre 127-7 by three wickets.
Ockbrook 169-4 (Matt Cassar 80 not out) beat Alvaston 7 Boulton 110 all out (A Aslam 36, A Tariq 30, S Attenborough 4-10) by 59 runs.

Wright Cup
Last Sunday, Belper Meadows seconds progressed to the Wright Cup semi final stage.
Belper Meadows 2nds 137-6 (42.4 overs] (B Gowing 52*) beat Stanton Elks 1sts 136 all out (44.3 overs] (Michael Cox 4-26) by 4 wickets.
In the last four, Meadows will face Rolls Royce seconds who beat Heanor Town by 40 runs last weekend.
