BELPER Meadows were left kicking their heels last weekend when all their scheduled games were cancelled due to the wet weather.
The Saturday games affected were the first XI’s game at fourth-placed Darley Dale, the second XI at home to Riddings seconds and the thirds’ game at Denby fourths.

Sunday’s Frank Watson Trophy game against Belper Amateurs also fell victim to an un
fit wicket.

Junior Round up:

Belper Meadows under 17’s 110-5 beat Denby under 17’s 40 all out

Last Monday saw Belper cruise past the club’s bogey side into the final of the Jon Storer under 17 cup.

Tom Roe (41) led the team well leading from the front in the absence of Dave Whiteley.

Wozniczka-Wells and Bryn Carnelly also chipping in with the bat to set up a competitive total.

An electric performance in the field proved to be the resounding difference between the sides.

Bryn Carnelly bowled with fire in his heart and was backed up by Maleham. But the ground fielding was superb every catching chance was taken and the ultra cool Joe Whitley combined with Tom Milner to effect a crucial run out.

Louis Mundin claimed the final wicket with his very first ball courtesy of a catch that had all sweating apart from the ice in his veins Neil Horton, 14, who saw his side through to the final against either Shipley or Quarndon.
