Tough start for Belper United in MRA

THERE is a tough start for Belper United in the Premier Division of the Belfield MRA as having entertained Matlock Town Reserves at their Alton Manor Ground on August 13 (6.30pm) they welcome Borrowash Victoria Reserves to the same venue on Saturday, August 16 (3pm).
Belper United's young reserve team, which already has Football League scouts talking of the potential local talent within it's ranks are at home on Alton Manor to Little Eaton Reserves on August 18 (6.30pm).

Eastwood Town Reserves enjoyed a winnin
g start on their return to the Premier Division when they beat Derby Rolls Royce Leisure 2-1 at home last Saturday.

An own goal and a strike by Thomasen gave them the points.

In the only other Premier Division match of the day, newly promoted Willington lost 2-1 to Rowsley '86.

Great start

In Division One, newcomers Allenton United made a great start as they went nap beating Heanor Colliers 5-0.

Danny Briscoe bagged a hat-trick as Danny O'Connell and Paul Wilson added to the total.

Beeston, for whom Paul Ireson and Danny Beldham were on target, lost 3-2 at home to Holbrook St Michaels Reserves while Tom Broughton scored the goal that saw Derbyshire Amateurs beat Matlock Sports 1-0.

Newly promoted Mickleover RBL lost 3-2 to Bargate Rovers in their first game in this Division.

No goals at all in the match between Pastures and Dronfield Town Reserves with Danny Ball scoring for Swanwick Pentrich Road in their 2-1 loss to Selston.

Belper United Reserves and Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves kicked off the season in a Division Two game which was played on the Friday evening and which the young United side won 4-0.

Eddie Smiley, (2), Neil Dalton and Liam Marsden scored the goals.

Saturday saw Hilton Harriers given a hot welcome to the League as visitors Rowsley 86 Reserves beat them 9-1

Alvaston Town also found themselves on the wrong end of a big scoreline as Wirksworth Town Reserves beat them 6-1

John Goodman scored the Alvaston goal.

Stuart Ward scored the only goal of the game as Wirksworth Ivanhoe beat Melbourne Dynamo Reserves 1-0.

Monday

Monday evening saw Derby Rolls Royce Leisure get their first Premier Division point of the season on the board but they had to come back from two goals down to share the points in a 2-2 draw with newly-promoted Castle Donington Town.

An own goal and a Carl Allsopp penalty made up the scoresheet for Royce's.

In Division One Brett Sharpe scored the goal which gave Swanwick Pentrich Road a 1-0 victory over Holbrook St Michaels Reserves while Paul Brooks and Sam Clarke banged in the goals for Chellaston as they beat Little Eaton 2-1.

In Division Two, Belper United Reserves had most of the play against Cotes Park but fell victim to a scruffy goal, the only one of the match.

Steve B right, Oliver Brown and James Morgan all scored for Shirland Athletic as they beat Bargate Rovers Reserves 3-1 while Hilton Harriers are still looking for their first goal of the season having lost 3-0 to Melbourne Dynamo Reserves.

Alex Slater, Tom Donnachie and John Malbon scored for Melbourne.

Rowsley '86 Reserves went down 3-0 to Wirksworth Town Reserves.
