Denby CC 1sts made the journey south to take on Lullington Park on the penultimate weekend of the Derbyshire Premier League season.

Lullington Park won the toss and asked their visitors to bowl first.

Their innings got off to a good start courtest of an opening stand of 61 from Michael Mitchell and Bradley Davis.

Davis eventually departed for 37 but Mitchell found another willing partner in Peter Burgoyne (19), who helped him add a further 36 runs.

Mitchell eventually compiled a fine 86, made from 132 balls and including three sixes and three fours.

There were also late runs from Alexander Eyre (25) which helped to push Denby to a final total of 207-7 from their 50 overs.

For Lullington Park, Matt Sanderson took three wickets for the home side.

Greg Cork took a wicket almost straight away for Denby when Lullington Park began their reply.

But the home side steadied the ship through Richard Caron (27) and Thomas Green (20).

But Denby kept up the pressure and at 81-4, Lullington Park still had plenty to do.

Matt Sanderson top scored with 66 and James Doherty chipped in with 30 but in the end they finished just short of Denby on 196-7 to draw the game.

Will Davis took 3-66 and Greg Cork two victims.
