Ambergate continue fine start to season

AMBERGATE CC continued their fine start to the 2012 Derbyshire County Cricket season with a massive 123-run victory at Langley Mill United on Saturday.

Batting first, Ambergate totalled 216-6 at Station Road, Jonathan Heath hitting 53, David Whiteley top-scoring with 65 and Jeff Wharton taking 3-56 for the hosts.

The Millers, who were unbeaten, were then skittled out for just 93 off 41.1 overs as David Whiteley took 3-21 and Shazad Ahmed 3-14 for Ambergate who are now in second place in division two.
