Members of Denby Cricket Club are busy preparing for the season in spite of the cold weather.

With the season but a few weeks away, both junior and senior players have been busy indoors, hoping that British Summer Time will bring a change in the weather to enable outside training to start.

The club will also be taking part in the ECB NatWest CricketForce Initiative on April 5-6.

The aim of the project is to help clubs prepare for the coming season which is scheduled to start within a couple of weeks.

The snow and cold weather in March has seen preparations adversely affected and the club is calling on all members to volunteers sometime over the weekend to help catch up.

Work will start at 9.30am on each day.

Looking ahead to the season, the club as always has a busy programme of matches at a levels.

With additional teams at under 11’s in 2013 along with 6 senior teams and a growing women and girls section the club is keen to attract additional players of all ages and ability, male and female.

Anyone wishing to find out more about the playing opportunities (senior or junior) available can contact Mick Glenn on 07976 504276.
