Derbyshire CCC fixtures for 2012

THE release of the 2012 fixtures has revealed Derbyshire will face Yorkshire in five days of local derby cricket at Chesterfield in July.

After starting the six-day festival at Queen’s Park with a match against the Unicorns on Sunday 15th July, Derbyshire will start a four day LV = County Championship match against Yorkshire on Wednesday 18th July and a Clydesdale Bank 40 fixture against the same opposition on the following Sunday.

Derbyshire’s LV = County Championship campaign will get underway with the visit of Northamptonshire, starting Thursday 5th April.

The traditional Friends Life t20 clash versus Nottinghamshire Outlaws will take place on Friday 6th July. The visit of Leicestershire Foxes will take place on the previous Friday 29th June.

As well as the previously announced two day match versus South Africa on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th August, Derbyshire will play Australia A in a three day fixture during the weekend of 27th, 28th and 29th July.

Chief Executive Keith Loring said: “A four day match against Yorkshire will capture the imagination of the public in Chesterfield and its surrounding area. And we are delighted to have secured the Friends Life t20 match against Notinghamshire Outlaws for a Friday night following the conclusion of the Football European Championships. The planning for 2012 starts here.”
