Openers Alex Eyre and Michael Mitchell were both back in the pavilion by the time the home side had reached 26 and few batsmen managed to impose themselves on the Sandiacre bowlers.

Denby’s new overseas player - Australian batsman/wicketkeeper Brad Davis - came in at number four and made 13.
