Duffield’s perfect start continues

Duffield CC 1sts continued their 100 per cent start to the DCCL Division One season with their third maximum points win in a row.

Saturday’s latest success saw them beat Staveley Welfare by 50 runs.

Duffield won the toss and batted first, accumulating 228-9 from their 50 overs.

Chris Sheldon (30) and Tim Williscroft (28) got the innings off to a good start.

There were then two quick wickets before the innings was settled by a fine knock of 78 from just 74 balls by Thomas Roe, including ten fours and two sixes.

There was also a good contribution of 33 from Jono Clare.

Staveley Welfare were then dismissed for 178.

Clare took four wickets and Joe Woznicka-Wells three.
