Duffield CC 1sts returned to winning ways on Saturday at Ambergate, following on from last week’s home draw.
The victory, by a comfortable margin of six wickets, means Duffield are very handily placed in third place in the Derbyshire County Cricket League Division, 35 points behind second-placed Marehay.
On Saturday, the toss at the Hurt Arms Ground was won by Duffield and they asked their hosts to bat first.
Ambergate eventually compiled 196-8 from their 50 overs in this A6 derby.
Chris Whiteley (18) and Paul Thompson (24) got them off to a steady start with an opening stand of 49 and then Jonathan Heath took on the baton with an unbeaten knock of 70 from number three.
But only Ahtesham Yaqoob with 24 and Matt Ball with 25 were able to provide him any real assistance as the home side reached 196-8.
The wickets were shared between Richard Jordan (2-32), Alex Jones (4-49) and Peter Jenkins (2-43).
When they started their reply, openers Jack Clark and Matthew Goodacre made it into the teens but no further.
However, Paul Bakel played a decisive at the number three, the Duffield skipper being dismissed for 74, a score than included 12 boundaries.
He received good support along the way from Thomas Roe with 32 and it was left to Peter Jenkins (13 not out) and Chris Sheldon (29 not out) to see them home by four wickets in the 43rd over as Duffield took 22 points from the game.
