Stuey Edgar top scored for Ambergate as they entertained Walton-on-Trent in Derbyshire Division Two.

Walton won the toss and elected to field.

The Ambergate opener stuck at his task and made 80 from 91 deliveries, in an innings which included 12 fours and one six.

Ehtsham Yaqoob (40 from 53) and a useful unbeaten knock by Sam Beveridge (34 from 36) towards the end helped Ambergate to 229-7 from their 46 overs.

Luke Hemingway (48) and James Blackwell (41) led the reply for Walton which finished on 206-8, meaning Ambergate gained 17 points in a winning draw to Walton’s 12.

Next up for Ambergate is a trip to Victoria Avenue to take on second placed Ockbrook & Borrowash II on Saturday (1.30pm start).
