Hughes hits 50 for Derbyshire against Worcestershire
Alex Hughes scored his first County Championship 50 of the season but then became Nathan Lyon's maiden first-class victim for Worcestershire on the second day of the Division Two match at Derby.
Hughes made 53 including seven fours and shared a sixth wicket stand of 78 in 21 overs with Daryn Smit before he was lbw to Lyon as Derbyshire reached 200 for 6.
That was the last action of the afternoon as heavy rain set in and left large pools of surface water on the outfield with another inspection planned at five o’clock.
