FOR the fourth weekend in a row, the local cricket season suffered at the hands of saturated pitches.

The big A6 local derby between Ambergate and Belper Meadows was one of the casualties,

Meadows seconds did manage some action, but they went down to a one wicket defeat at home to Alfreton CC seconds.

The Meadows third team were also left without a game with their home clash against Allestree cancelled due to an unfit pitch.

Belper Amateurs had their game at Sandiacre Town cancelled, a fate which also befell the seconds’ home game against Cutthorpe.

Ambergate seconds did play but went down to an 81-run defeat at Clowne Town in division 4N, and Ambergate thirds also lost, going down by 19 runs at Awsworth in Division 9N.

Duffield crashed to a seven wicket defeat at home to Clifton in Division One and the seconds also lost, Ashover beating them by three wickets in division 5N.
