The weather put paid to Saturday’s Derbyshire County Cricket League games for Belper Meadows 1sts and 2nds.
But the club’s Sunday side was in Mansfield and District Cricket League Section Four action, taking on Wirksworth and Middleton and beating them by nine wickets.
Belper skipper Joe Slater won the toss and asked the opposition to bat first.
Wirskworth and Middleton were dismissed for just 74 in 28.4 overs.
Matt Jones was again in impressive form with the ball, taking figures of 4-10 in six overs, decimating the middle order in the process.
Josh Rockley also impressed, taking 3-19 from six overs.
The whole Belper Meadows’ attack was in good form, maintaining a tight line and length, and making scoring runs difficult for Wirksworth and Middleton.
Belper went on to win by nine wickets, reaching 76-1 in 16.3 overs.
James Fowler made 22, while Adam Holland batted throughout to score 35 not out and steer his side to a comfortable victory.
