Belper Meadows 1sts earned a draw against Eckington on Saturday in Division 5N of the Derbyshire County Cricket League.
Bowling first after winning the toss, Meadows restricted their visitors to 185-6 off their 46 overs.
Danny State and Karl Fields gave their side an excellent start, scoring 64 and 57 respectively as they put on 121 for the first wicket.
After that, Belper Meadows were able to take wickets on a fairly regular basis to keep them down to a more manageable score.
David Jenkins took two wickets and was the most successful of the bowlers for Meadows.
After losing Michael Cox for a duck, Meadows recovered through a half-century stand by Joe Slater and Thomas Hunt.
The latter departed for 17 but Slater batted throughout the innings for a patient 69 not out.
In the end, Meadows fell behind the required run rate and eventually settled for a draw, ending their 46-over knock on 139-7.
Daniel Kelly was the second top scorer with 29.
n As for the 2nds, they met Belper Amateurs 2nds in a Division 8N local derby.
Amateurs won the toss and batted first.
Michael Cooper took three early wickets, and then Phil Brammall took centre, recording fine figures of 4-42 for Meadows as Amateurs were bowled out for 140 in 40.3 overs.
Jamie Turner made 30 and Nick Rowton top scored with 31.
Meadows got off to a strong start, compiling 80 for the first wicket, and never looked back from that point as they surged to a seven-wicket win inside 33 overs.
Skipper James Fowler carried his bat for 63 and he was well supported by 22 from Ian Thompson and 38 from Dylan Garnett.
n Finally, Meadows’ Sunday side drew their game with Teversal.
Belper batted first and rattled along to 236-8 from 40 overs. There were half-centuries for James Fowler and Ben Mills.
Teversal then held on for a draw, finishing on 166-8. Dave Boyes took 4-16 .
