Meadows U13s chasing success on two fronts

Belper Meadows U13s are chasing honours on two fronts having already won the Notts & Derbys Border Youth League Dales Section title.

The side recorded victory over Belper Amateurs with room to spare in the end last weekend as the visitors ran out of overs, finishing on 66 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs.

Meadows had posted 86 for 6 from their 20 overs.

The Imperial Commercial Vehicles man of the match for Meadows was Ross Parker.

Meadows still have one league game to go, away at Clifton near Ashbourne this weekend but cannot be caught at the top of the division and have already won the league.

They will now be looking to add the league cup after winning through to the last four last Friday after a win at Alfreton.

The hosts batted first and finished on 73 for 8 from their 20 overs and despite bowling well, the extras column of 21 was the highest scorer and was disappointing from the Meadows perspective.

Dylan Garnett got the reply off to a great start with a wonderful six before Harry Trent retired after hitting 25. More wickets felland Alfreton were still very much in the game bowling at Meadows tail.

However, Ash Redfern and Matt Tribe ran a few singles well and then won the game at 73-6 with a wide after 17.4 overs.

The Imperial Commercial Vehicles man of the match for Meadows was shared between Harry Trent and Ash Redfern.
