Ned Eckersley became the third batsman in the innings to complete a century, only the 13th time it has happened in Leicestershire’s history, and at the interval was unbeaten on a career-best 149.

His stand with Cosgrove was 239 in 38 overs, a county record for the fourth wicket against Derbyshire who already face a tough battle to avoid another heavy defeat.
