Belper Meadows 1sts remain just below halfway in Division Two of the Derbyshire County League after Saturday’s draw with third-placed Ockbrook and Borrowash.

Ockbrook and Borrowash batted first and made a competitive total of 223-9 from their 46 overs.

Mitchell (75) and Hewitson (33 not out) were among the runs while Murfin was the main wickettaker for Belper with figures of 5-66.

In reply, Belper Meadows finished on 200-8 with Slater (50) and Buckley (42) contributing well. Ockbrook and Borrowash took 17 points from the game and Belper Meadows 13.

The 2nds were in action at Duffield in Division 5N and took four points from a drawn game.

Duffield, who took 19 points from the encounter, racked up an impressive 276-2 from 41 overs with Muskett scoring a fine 138, King 64 and Antill an unbeaten 37.

In reply, Belper Meadows batted out the 51 overs, eventually ending on 146-6, of which Farnsworth made 30.

Finally, Belper Meadows 3rds drew with hosts Riddings in Division 7N.

Riddings made 222-7 from their 46 overs, based around 60 from Lycett, 45 from North and 56 not out from Fenn.

Meadows replied with 132-8, as Hudson top scored with 43.

Belper took seven points and Riddings 19 points from the game.

This weekend, Belper Meadows 1sts are at Denby, the 2nds have a local derby at home to Belper Amateurs and the 3rds entertain Sawley and LE Park in Division 8N.
