Duffield CC 1sts moved to within two points of the top two in Division One of the Derbyshire County Cricket League with a crushing win over Clifton on Saturday.
Duffield won the toss, batted first and compiled a very handy total of 252-8 from their 50 overs.
Thomas Roe (24) and Chris Sheldon (68) got their side off to a good start with an opening stand of 59.
There were then further contributions from James Pipe, whose attacking knock of 55 was scored in just 30 balls and featured seven fours and three sixes, plus Luke Webb with 40 not out.
Webb combined well at the end of the innings with Matthew White (24 not out) for what turned out to be an unbeaten stand of 60 for the ninth wicket.
For Clifton, Faisal Khan shone with the ball, taking 5-43.
Webb then got to work with the ball, completing an excellent all-round personal display by taking 5-30 in 12 overs to help dismiss the visitors for just 69 in 30 overs.
Only Faisal Khan (18) and Jordan Godfrey (12) made it into double figures for Clifton, in the face of some sustained excellence with the ball by Duffield.
Matthew White and Jono Clare took two wickets each, and Peter Jenkins one.
