THE organiser of the forthcoming Alfreton and District Sunday Football League 40th anniversary reunion has announced the first charity which will benefit from a grand prize draw being held on the day.

The annual Stan Brewster Memorial Football Tournament, which itself raises funds for four local charities each year, will be one of three organisations which will receive funds from the day.

The reunion has been set up by former Johnson Sports, Jaeger and Archway ‘84 goalkeeper Andy Smithurst who is inviting anyone and everyone who has ever played for or been an official with any club within the Alfreton Sunday League since it’s formation in 1969.

Current and former referees and league officials are also most welcome to attend the family-fun orientated day.

The event is being held at Lumb Farm on the outskirts of Ripley on Sunday, June 12 from 2pm until 10.30pm and will include a hog roast, barbecue, bouncy castle, licensed bar and much more.

Full details of the reunion are available from the official website www.tsargroup.co.uk/page5.htm

The site also includes a forum and guest book for former players and officials to leave messages and catch up with each other before the big day.
