Charity games are up and running

The 2013 Belper Nursing Cup Charity Competition is under way.

Duffield Old Boys played Duffield Rangers at Eyes Meadow. On a cold but bright evening, the youth of Rangers eventually paid off against the experience of Old Boys.

The first half ended with Rangers in the lead, following two goals to Old Boys’ one. This situation continued until well into the second half, but a penalty awarded to Rangers and another goal, ensured they won.

On the following evening, Swanwick Pentrich Road travelled to Holbrook Sports in a first round game. Some good end-to-end football was enjoyed, with Holbrook winning 2-1, going through to play Belper United in the quarter-finals.

Other scheduled matches are: Belper Nailers Veterans v Holbrook St. Michaels (at Holbrook) on April 11, kick off 6.30pm; Belper United v Holbrook Sports on April 22 at Alton Manor, kick off 6.30pm; and Bargate Rovers Reserves v Bargate Rovers on April 24 at Manor Ground, kick off 6.15pm.
