Last Sunday saw the four semi-finalists in this year’s Stan Brewster Memorial Football Tournament go head to head for a place in the final.
Playing in rather cooler temperatures than they have been used to, Crib took on Codnor Miners in a replay of last year’s final, again coming out winners with a 4-1 scoreline.
Crib’s goals came from a Shaun Smith hat-trick and another from Luke Crosby, with Codnor’s goalscorer being Tom Hawkins.
The other pitch saw SSAFA take on Ripley Town.
SSAFA saw their way through to the final to take on Crib courtesy of a 5-1 win.
Goals for SSAFA came from Joe Riley, and bothJay Cooper and Kieran Debrouwer got two each. Ripley’s came from Jimmy Hassell.
Congratulations to Crib and SSAFA for getting to the final and good luck to both teams.
Organisers would like to say a big thank you to Codnor and Ripley for all of their support during the tournament.
The final of this year’s Stan Brewster Memorial Football Tournament, now in its eighth year, will be played this Sunday, July 28, from 2pm at Alfreton Town’s Impact Arena.
