12 points from four games have seen Belper United take an early lead in the Central Midlands League Black Dragon Division South.
These first matches could not have gone any better for United, with 16 goals scored an only two conceded.
A spokesman said: “The new signings have gelled in with the majority of last season’s squad and currently the atmosphere in the changing room is tremendous. Aaron Pride, Sam Vickers, Joe Wheeler and Adam Moss have joined and fitted in straight away but skipper Kyle Wadsworth has really lead the way with five goals from midfield already this season.
“Off the pitch things have started just as well. Our home tenancy at Christchurch Meadow has now started and we have seen a 7-0 victory over local rivals Holbrook St Michaels and then a 3-1 victory over title contenders Pinxton FC, both being watched by over 150 spectators. We would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support.
“September sees our first ever FA Vase game with an short away trip to Clipstone Welfare on September 7. Last season’s double-winning reserve team will start their season in September with home games against Harworth CI and Newark Town.
“They have been looking good in pre-season after adding a number of Belper Town u16 and u18s to help bolster last year’s squad. Another massive positive is that they already have a number of players pushing for a first team place.”
The next game is at Allenton United on Saturday, (3pm kick off), followed by a home game against Linby Colliery on September 3 (7.45pm kick off). This is followed by the aforementioned FA Vase game at Clipstone Welfare (3pm).
