Belper Town Football Club has secured a five-year stadium naming rights partnership with Marston’s PLC, the UK’s leading independent brewing and pub retailing business.
The deal will see the stadium that was previously called Christchurch Meadow, re-branded and re-named as the Marston’s Stadium.
David Laughlin, company secretary for Belper Town, said: “We have been working tirelessly on this project to ensure we came to the right deal with the right partner for the club.
“Marston’s is a thriving, successful company with national appeal but with a local connection though its brewery, based in Burton upon Trent.
“We feel that through this link with such a strong and well-respected commercial partner, the club will be able to build on last season’s promotion winning campaign as it faces its inaugural season in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division.
“This is a long-term relationship and we hope that our partnership will go beyond the initial five-year agreement.
Bob Leatherland, business development manager for Marston’s added: “We are delighted to put our name to this excellent sporting and conferencing facility and to be associated with Belper Town, a club that is a genuine focal point for the local community.
“We were impressed by the quality of the facilities at the stadium, with the club’s clear ambition and the professionalism in the way that they manage and operate their business. They have a real desire to succeed and together we are convinced that the partnership will produce real benefits for both parties.”
A formal ceremony to launch the stadium sponsorship deal was made when Belper Town entertained a Derby County XI at a pre-season friendly match at the Marston’s Stadium on Friday.
