High fives as Belper Sports U13s go top

Belper Sports U13s 5

Mickleover All Stars U13s 0

Belper started this game knowing that a win over would send them to the top of Division Two.

Sports started well with some blistering runs down the right flank from Bradley Robinson before Dan Clark had a good shot on the turn which the Mickleover Keeper saved well.

Man of the match Oliver Storr and Captain Jordon Mizon were starting to control the match in midfield with some crunching tackles.

Oliver Darbyshire playing at the heart of Sports defence had little to do but he was the starting point for a lot of the attacks from the back with some crisp passing.

Sports eventually found the breakthrough when Dan Clark latched onto a ball from Joel Cain and shot low into the net five minutes before half time.

Robinson then made it 2-0 when he beat a defender to a great cross to score.

Jacob Smith then came on and scored two good goals. The first was a header from a cross from Kris Dawson. His second and Belper’s fourth was a great cross shot to beat the keeper comfortably.

Dan Clark then made it 5-0 to Belper to send them to the top of the league with his eleventh League goal of the Season.

Belper are now looking to maintain their 100 per cent record at Breedon Wanderers this Saturday.
