Holbrook St Michaels slipped to a 1-o defeat at home to Swanwick Pentrich Road on Saturday in the Central Midlands League Division South.

The winning goal for the fast improving Swans came from a strike by Shane Buckerfield.

Result of the day in thedivision came at Barrowby, where the home side recorded only their second win of the season, but did it in spectacular style with a 6-0 win over Mickleover Royals.

Also among the goals were the still unbeaten South Normanton Athletic, who put six past struggling Calverton Miners Welfare. The Shiners scored three in each half, with Tom Leighton, Ben Greenhalgh, Rob Fretwell, Danny Roberts, Shane Newton and an own goal making up the half dozen.

In the Reserve Supreme Division, Nick Langford’s hat trick secured the points for Bilborough Pelican in a 3-2 win at Holbrook Sports, the home side’s goals coming from Mark Szuta and Jordan Smith.

This weekend, Holbrook St Michaels are in action at Bulwell, who are currently second in the table.

Holbrook Sports Reserves were due to play at Heanor last night (Tuesday) and entertain Dunkirk Reserves on Saturday.
