Heanor Town Reserves are on the cusp of their first title in over half a century.
The last week has seen the young Lions record two pivotal wins.
First they swept aside second-placed Radford Reserves 6-2 and Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves 3-0, before thumping long-time divisional leaders Hucknall Town Reserves 5-2 at the Town Ground last Saturday.
The week saw a personal milestone reached by young Mansfield Town loanee Elliott Reeves with a personal haul of nine goals, bringing his total to 26 for the season, from his last three starts.
Jordan Ingram opened the scoring for Heanor after 10 minutes, and Reeves doubled the advantage ten minutes later from the penalty spot.
A defensive blunder then allowed Aiden England to pull one back, but Reeves restored the two-goal cushion on the half-hour.
Hucknall began the second half brightly and sub Jordan Phillips halved the deficit once again.
After Reeves had notched his hat-trick with his second penalty there was no stopping Heanor and the same player notched again in stoppage time.
The side need to win their last three games to become champions on goal difference.
