Never-say-die Holbrook St Michael’s Reserves might still be waiting for their first victory of a fraught season in the Central Midlands League. But they celebrated a landmark on Easter Saturday by collecting only their third point.
The bottom-of-the-table Saints, who had lost 17 of their previous 19 matches in the Reserves Division, entertained mid-table Mickleover Royal British Legion Reserves and held them to a 3-3 draw in an entertaining match.
George Dalby, Ben Wallace and Danny Hadley were all on target for the Holbrook side, with Kevin Beddow (2) and Dale Cadd responding for the visitors.
In the same division, Holbrook Sports Reserves enjoyed a profitable Easter weekend too, drawing 2-2 at Pinxton Reserves on Saturday before belting Blidworth Welfare Reserves 4-0 on Monday.
Sports’ scorers in the first game were Adam Lillie and Kristian Gilbert, with Tommy Edwards and Corey Hardy striking for Pinxton. And in the Easter Monday romp, Jake Dodds opened the scoring from the penalty spot, Jermaine Palmer and Yannick Prenda made it three by half-time and the evergreen Vaughn Hallsworth rounded things off.
Title-chasing Belper United were without a match in the South Division, but Holbrook St Michael’s fell to a 1-0 defeat at Collingham, whose goal was a Kieran Helsdown penalty.
