Semis line-up is completed

The semi-finalists have now been decided for the Belper Nursing Cup with Swanwick Pentrich Road due to play Ambergate yesterday (Tuesday) as the News went to press.

Swanwick were on form last Thursday when they met Holbrook St. Michaels for their quarter final.Two goals from J. McRobie and J. Smith and one from A. Whitemore gave them victory, while the home team’s penalty from Richard Clark was the consolation.

Belper United had their quarter-final sewn up with half an hour to go, being 2-0 up, but the last 20 minutes saw Belper Town’s younger legs put two past the United keeper to make it 2-2 at the final whistle.

So on to penalties and United came through 3-2 to make a total of 5-4, meaning they meet Belper Nailers Veterans on Thursday, April 28.

Both matches are at Christchurch Meadows, 7.30pm kick off.

There will be a prize draw at both games with many raised going towards the Nursing Cup’s chosen charity.
