Paul Romney made two changes for this FA Vase third round clash with Aaron Brady returning up front and Gerome Palmer back in defence.

A disastrous start saw Holbrook concede a penalty after only four minutes for an off-the-ball incident. Tom Matthews easily dispatched the penalty.

With Holbrook in shock, they instantly conceded a second when static defending allowed Ryan Hall to run in from the right wing and slot home to put Brighouse in command after only five minutes.

On 17 minutes, with Brighouse totally dominating, they added a third, with Holbrook standing off Tom Nadiole, who smashed in a stunning 25-yard shot.

Holbrook finally came into the game after 30 minutes when the Brighouse keeper spilled a free-kick and Aaron Brady tapped home from close range.

Brighouse continued to attack but spurned their chances to only go in at half-time 3-1.

The second half continued in the same way with Brighouse attacking quickly but failing to take their chances. Tom Matthews finally added to the score when his low shot went in off the far post to make it on 4-1.

The 68th minute though saw a bizarre incident when two floodlights failed and caused a delay of 20 minutes. Holbrook came out after the delay and finally put in a performance in and had four glorious chances to get back in the game but unfortunately the damage was already done and Brighouse easily held out.
