Tabletopping Belper Town Academy found themselves on cloud nine after a hat-trick by Dan Watson helped them to their biggest win of the season.
Josh Bullock and Erik Walker also netted two goals apiece as Belper routed Radcliffe Borough 9-2 to stay a couple of points clear in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Youth Academy League table.
Remarkably, there were 32 minutes on the clock before the opening goal when Bullock bundled the ball over the line. But then the floodgates opened as Radcliffe had Lewis Costello sent off and their discipline broke down.
Josh Craddock doubled the Nailers’ advantage by the break and although the visitors pulled one back through Michael Herety, Belper then went on the rampage. Bullock bagged his second, Tom Rodgers fired home and substitute Walker struck before Watson’s quickfire treble.
The goal spree was rounded off in style by Walker, who bent in a superb free-kick from the corner of the box.
