A muddy Markeaton Park in Derby saw the tenth Round of the SRAM NDCXL cyclo-cross event on Saturday.
This cyclo-cross race would ordinarily have been held in Sinfin Park, however a glitch in the booking office meant it was held at Markeaton instead.
Belper BC riders were in good form, especially Jack Husselbee who finished second in the U12s event.
This was fine result for the youngster who finished in a time of 14:28.9 (four laps of the course), just 32 seconds behind race winner Ben Chilton from Derby Mercury.
Jack’s Belper team mate Christian Boon came seventh, with Edward Warbrick finishing 15th and Liam Northridge 16th in a race that saw 55 finishers.
Jack’s sister Lara Husselbee competed in the earlier U9s race, Taylor Marshall was in the youth race and David Evans in the senior event.
Belper’s Jonathan Marshall (Zepnat) not only came first in his V45 age category, but also did incredibly well to finish fourth overall in this Vets race with a time of 54:29.40.
Other Belper riders in this Vets and Ladies race were Shaun Warbrick, Nicholas Bates and Jane Warbrick, with overall winner Dave Ash (Nottingham Clarion) finishing with a time of 00:51:45.10, ahead of all other 117 finishers in this race.
Round 11 is to be held at Hardwick Hall on Sunday December 8.
