Belper manager warns of a tough encounter

BELPER Town boss Peter Duffield has warned his players to expect a battle against bottom club Quorn at Christchurch Meadow on Saturday.

Quorn are currently seven points adrift of safety in Evo-Stik Division One South.

They have conceded 13 goals in their last two league outings, including an 8-0 home defeat to high-flying Carlton Town, but Duffield will not be underestimating the opposition.

“Quorn have been struggling but they have also picked up some good results against some of the top teams,” said the Nailers manager.

“There are no whipping boys in the division this season. In past years, there have often been teams like that but it’s not the case this time around.

“At the moment, they are in a big relegation dogfight.

“That means they will be battling as hard as any team in the division to get points.

“We need to make sure we don’t underestimate them and approach the game with the right attitude.”

Midfielder Colin Marrison is back in training after a knee operation, and Ben Leonard is also closing in on a return from injury.

However, defender Aaron Pride is still suspended.
