Belper Sports Under-16s hit six

Derby City League

Sunday Under-16s

Belper Sports U16s 6

Boulton Lane 3

A RESURGENT Belper Sports Under-16s recorded a terrific victory over last season’s division two winners and old rivals Boulton Lane.

Belper have had a mixed start to the season including having to play games with just ten players at one stage, still managing to grind out some decent results

However, with the acquisition of a few new signings over recent weeks, fortunes have changed over the last three games culminating in this win and things are certainly looking up.

This game saw a great team effort with plenty of good passing and a solid midfield performance and almost unbeatable defence.

Well worked goals in the first half from Jordan Peters, Sam Pearson and Loren Docksey saw the Sports go in at half-time with a well-deserved and convincing lead and a clean sheet for keeper George Hudson.

Sports also hit the cross bar twice in the first half with the Boulton Lane keeper well beaten.

With changes to the starting line up and tactical decisions from the Manger Brian Woodcock, Sports carried on with the same attitude as the first.

A second goal from the in-form Loren Docksey and further goals from James Mart and Sam Kemp ensured that despite the visitors having a better second half and scoring three times in repy, it was Belper who ran out convincing winners.
