Chesterfield Amateur League looking to restart
THE Chesterfield and Districtg Amateur League are looking for teams to join them for the 2012/13 season.
The league had to stand down this season (2011/12) due to lack of teams making it viable but officials have been working hard with a view to returning to action next season
The league have maintained the league’s sponsorship with Chesterfield College and also have the opportunity for the League’s Byron Cup final to be held at Chesterfield’s B2Net Stadium.
After looking into a number of ideas three options are currently being explored further, and the League would welcome any feedback / enquiries from the footballing community within the area.
The three options in mind are:-
Under 19’s - ideal for the teams who are leaving the ‘junior’ Leagues in the area
* Open Age [ie adults] and
* Over 35’s
Watch out for more information over the coming weeks and months as the league do their utmost to secure a future for a League that is 93 years old.
Any feedback from interested parties, new or unattached teams should be directed initially through the league chairman, Dave Cartwright via email davecartwright94@gmail.com or to the press secretary, cfld.afl.press@gmail.com
