Derbyshire Premier League review for Saturday, June 27

QUARNDON'S Derbyshire Premier League struggles continued as they managed only five points away at Chesterfield last Saturday.

Quarndon reached 181-9 in 50 overs with Dale Winson con-tributing with 39, assisted by Kevin Hollis on 31.

Luke Thomas took 3-37 for Chesterfield who replied with 185-4 in 44.2 overs. Alex Hibbert made 71 alongside Ben Slater on 42 whilst Quarndon's Sam Van Daesdonk finished with figures of 3-45 giving Chesterfield 22 points.

Title-chasing Sandiacre maintained their challenge as they took the full 27 points away at bottom of the table Ilkeston Rutland.

The visitors made 224-9 in 50 overs with David Jordison contributing with 32 alongside Rob Attwood on 56.

Carl Pengelly took 5-41 for Ilkeston with Martin Brandrick assisting with 3-51.

Ilkeston's reply saw them end with just four points from the game as they were dismissed for just 106 all out in 31.1 overs.

Andrew Flindall hit 32 while Nick Dawson made 46 but they were kept firmly in check by John Jordison who finished with figures of 5-35 for Sandiacre.

Lullington were another side this weekend that took advantage of batting first.

Gaining 27 points, the away side reached 205 all out in 50 overs against Dunstall.

Mike Smith hit 76 and Craig Jennings took 3-34 assisted by Martin Clewley on 3-40.

Dunstall replied with 84 all out in 32.4 overs.

The visiting captain led the way taking 4-9 and Andrew Goodwin also followed in Shales' footsteps finishing up with 4-12 giving Dunstall 5 points.

League leaders Ockbrook posted a promising looking score against Alfreton but had to settle for just a winning draw.

Ockbrook took 18 points away from reaching 279 for the loss of 10 wickets in 50 overs. Jonny Owen hit 70 assisting Charlie Ault on a strong 85 and Jonathon Clarke took 6-54 for Alfreton. In reply Alfreton reached 199-5 in the full 50 overs.

Andrew Gwatkin finished unbeaten on 87 with contributions from Graham Bush, 45 and Alex Mace, 31.

Alfreton went away with 9 points.

3 points: Charlie Ault; 2 points: Jonathon Clarke; 1 point: Jonny Owen.

Alvaston and Boulton gained only five points from their visit to Spondon.

The visitors made 169-8 with Steve Stubbings top scoring on 40. Chris Windmill finished with figures of 3-20 for Spondon who had a much more promising day.

Spondon knocked off the required runs in 41 overs, finishing up on 171-6 leaving them with 22 points.

Simon Hill hit 38 and was assisted by Sam Kellogg unbeaten on 35.

Rolls Royce gained 18 points from their home game against Aston.

Royces made 227-6 in 50 overs, Mohammed Waseem hit a strong 109 assisted by Raja Sohail Haider with 66.

Aston replied with 207-7, Haq Nawaz hitting an unbeaten 69 with contributions from Mehmoon Tariq on 33 and Atif Sheik also on 33. Aston went away with nine points.
