Mini Marlins have a whale of a time!

BELPER Marlin Swimming Club held their (Mini Marlin) Club Championships at William Gregg Leisure Centre Heanor recently.

The event was well attended by parents and grandparents to support the up and coming young swimmers.

Sixteen swimmers took part in the event from the age of four years and up, and all of them performed extremely well.

The night was one to remember for the young ones with a surprise visit from Santa Claus.

Overall winners for the 2011 Championships were Emily Wallwin, Joe Sadler, Annabel Brown, Joel McGraw who swam very well indeed with top places.

The Mini Marlin Swimmer of the Year was jointly awarded this year, a well-deserved award going to both Jolie Baker and Joel McGraw.
