New season details for anglers at Carsington
Carsington Water will be open for boat fishing on Saturday, March 16, as the new season for anglers there gets under way.
Water levels are the highest they have been for some time, although not quite up to maximum, but that could change over the next two months.
Stocking levels will be maintained for the forthcoming season, with quality fish being introduced on virtually a weekly basis.
A big issue in the current financial climate for all fisherme is the cost.
Sarah Barrett, managing director of Water Sports, which runs the fishery, has made the decision that costs for 2013 will be:
Full day permit - £24 **
10 x full day permits (booked in advance) - £199 **
Half day permit - £20 **
Concession full day - £19 **
Concession half day - £15 **
Evening permit - £12
Sporting full day - £14
Sporting half day - £10
** These increases are less than one per cent over the 2012 season
Boat prices will not be increased for 2013. Disabled anglers should be aware there are two boats available and both have push button starters for their convenience
All boat bookings are taken at the Water Sports Office, where permits are obtained, on 01629 540478.
