The strongest display so far

BELPER Hockey Club men’s coach Ben Lamb felt the win at Preston was borne out of the strongest performance of the season so far.

He explained: “It was a great team effort and three valuable points in the bag for us!

“It was a steely performance and one of our strongest to date, especially the second half.

“We cannot however rest on our laurels and take the foot off the pedal.

“We have a double header this weekend with home games against Olton and Durham University and we have to keep the momentum going” he added.

Skipper Kitchen was also in jubilant mood as he praised the never-say-die attitude of his charges “We always knew we could get the points today and it came down to each player standing up and doing their bit. And all through the squad we did that today.”

Belper take on Olton at the Meadows this Saturday. The game has a 1.30pm start. On Sunday, Durham University are the visitors (2pm).

All support would be very welcome as the team look to build on their points tally for the season.
