After a very successful start to the season on the road this year, Belper Bicycle Club veterans Mike Allen, Bill Cotton and Derrick Woodings have now started intensive track training ready for the National Masters Track Championships, which will be held over the first weekend of July at the Newport Velodrome in South Wales.

This week, the trio will be at the Manchester Velodrome, the headquarters of British Cycling, for coaching sessions which are held weekly throughout the year.

Derrick and Mike are entered for three disciplines; the two-kilometre pursuit, the ten-kilometre scratch and points races.

Bill is down for the latter two events plus the 500-metre time trial.

The next Belper BC club night is on Monday, June 6 with a 7pm start at the Strutt Club in Campbell Street. New members of all ages and experience are always welcome.
