More good results for Belper Marlins swimmers

Long Eaton gala was staged last weekend - the maiden gala of 2015.

Free runners were spotted clambering across the roof at Queens Swimming Pool last weekend, but if they wanted to see the real young athletes then they simply had to look down through the window at the Belper Marlin freestylers in the pool!

After training long and hard through Christmas, and for most beginning the early morning training sessions (that’s 6.00am!), the children of this fantastic swimming club showed their metal.

Time after time last year’s personal bests fell and medals and trophies were collected from the prize table.

Special mention must go to young Lauren Tomlinson, who spent all afternoon waiting for her race and then blasted down the pool like a torpedo cheered on by her friends.

She left carrying her sports bag (which is bigger than her!) with a huge smile on her face – a real champion in the making!

A great start for the Marlin’s … another year that promises results that will shoot through the roof and even over the heads of those on it!
