Last week saw round six of the SRAM NDCXL series take place at Alfreton Park, with a clutch of Belper BC members posting good results.
The cyclo-cross event, which is organised by Belper BC, was staged with a backdrop of dry weather which suited the sloping park gradient and woodland parts on the course.
In the under-9s race Belper’s Ella Langston finished as fifth fastest girl with a time of 08:36.85 with Elizabeth Parker (unattached), riding her first cyclo-cross, finishing as seventh fastest in a time of 09:21.45.
Belper riders Ella Cotton and Oliver Brown also put in great rides in an event won by Matlock’s Ben Mellor.
The under-12’s race was won by Joshua Giddings of Heanor Clarion, with a time of 13:29.30
In the Youth race, Belper duo Liam Northridge and Jack Husselbee did well in a contest that was won by Bailey Wilmot (under-16) in a time of 26:03.70.
Belper’s Tony Goldstraw (Team Empella) put in a strong last lap performance in the veteran race to finish fifth overall.
He also came second in his V45 category, thanks to his time of 54:07.75 in a race that was won by Dan Cook (Peak RC) in 52:09.50.
