Belper consolidate their second place

BELPER Rugby Club began the new year with a comfortable 39-0 home victory over a Boston side who are currently next-to-bottom in the Midlands 4 East (North) table but who are obviously in a false position.

The victory consolidated Belper’s grip on second place in the table and keeps them seven points clear of third-placed East Leake.

Tries came from Aaron Holmes (2), his father Martin Holmes, Mike Gunter, Joe Blackwell.

More points came from the boot of James Emslie who kicked four conversions and two late penalties to cap a man of the match performance.
