Belper hammered Notts Casuals 91-5 in a friendly after their league game against Keyworth was called off by the away side the previous day.
This meant Belper took all five league points to stay six points clear of Ashfield at the top of the Midlands 4 East (North) table.
Belper were without six first choice starters, but it didn’t stop a dominant home performance.
From the off Belper found gaps and exploited the traveling side. The scrums for Belper were strong and it was the base of these that really upset the away side.
They took most against the head and won their own ball well. Belper scored 10 tries in the first half though Jake Holmes, Jim Lowden, Jarrod mordue and Tom Stones.
The second half was a little tighter until the last 10 minutes with Belper playing most of the half with 14.
James naylor was the first to get a yellow and when his replacement grant Nicholson came on he was also shown a yellow for a needless penalty.
Belper added more tries though Merv Holmes, Josh Woodward, Grant Nicholson, Tom Matthews with Mordue and Jake Holmes completing hat-tricks.
A free-scoring day for Belper but next week they travel to Long Eaton where they have not done well recently.
